Following the cancellation of the BBQ due to bad weather, this year we decided to try out a cheese and wine party, which is easier to organise and less weather-dependent. The cost per head will be £6 and for that there’s a selection of breads, crackers, assorted nibbles etc and of course cheese. Also thrown in is one glass of sparkling wine to freshen the pallette. Guests bring wine of their own choice or soft drinks. Last but not least is the good company. Any proceeds will go to the club.

All existing members, potential members, partners and friends are welcome - the more the merrier!

The venue will be Peter and Joyce’s house at:

1 Meadowfield Park South, Stocksfield, NE43 7QA. It’s off Meadowfield Road.

If the weather’s fine we can enjoy the air in the garden, but there’s plenty of room indoors if need be.

Unfortunately the BBQ planned for July 19 has been cancelled due mainly to uncertainty about the weather. We all know what a summer it’s been and it’s not going to improve, so we’re told.

Also, club members have been busy and distracted by the many activities around the club development. Keeping watching as there’s always something new to see!

The fun begins at 5.30 and, as well as the excellent food, there’ll be a selection of wines and canned beers at very reasonable prices, a quiz, raffle and - unless we can gag him first - a speech from Mike.
