Geoff’s BIG ride out - a great day!

A great day was had by all last Sunday - see the Road page for a brief report and pics.

Another dynamic member, this time Geoff Williams, is organising a ride from Bowness to Tynemouth. Enough from me; here’s what Geoff posted on the forum (incidentally, we think a solution for our forum access problems is at hand – keep trying):

“I am trying to sort out the Bowness on Solway to Tynemouth bike ride for Sunday 19/10/08 following the Hadrian’s Way. Depending on numbers the plan would be to use the mini bus travel company that we used for the C2C. They could pick us up at 2 collection points and take us over to Bowness for an early start of say 8.00am (exact cost depends on numbers and TBC). That way nobody has to drive and that will give us all day to get to Tynemouth including a few tea breaks when it will hopefully still be light (working on the assumption we will be averaging 10mph). Approx distance following the Hadrian’s Way will be 100miles and the route is suitable for road bikes. There will be alternative cut off points along the way if you wanted to cycle back home or get the train back from any of the Tyne valley stations if the going gets tough. We could split into two groups a fast and slow group depending on ability etc.

Can you let me know if you are interested so that final numbers are known?” Replies to giwfam@fsmail.net
